A fairly recent release from Bandai entertainment here in North America, this movie boasts fluid animation, fantastic fight sequences and a solid story to thread it all together. Bones studio is involved with this one, both in design and story. (The studio that created the television series 'Cowboy Bebop').For english dub enthusiasts, this is yet another solid dub from Ocean studios in Vancouver. For the longest time i hated anything that Ocean put out, but starting around the time 'Jin-roh' came out, they slowly started turning this reputation around, putting out quality acting. 'Black Lagoon' and 'The girl who leapt through time' also demonstrate Ocean's new voice acting excellence.
It should be noted that this is not a movie for children. There are liberal scenes of violence throughout, which is to be expected for a sword fighting film, but the occasional torture scene also pops up, which although not over extended in length, can be both disturbing and graphic, so be warned. The choreography of the fight scenes themselves are top notch, by the way.
